Stormwater Maintenance

As part of our ongoing stormwater maintenance efforts, staff was on Bay Boulevard today removing trash/debris from swales and jetting storm drains. The importance of maintaining clean storm drains and swales is crucial to help reduce the risk of flooding in our area. City staff is consistently working to remove debris and silt to help prevent stormwater pollution and control flooding. Without regular maintenance, even the most well developed systems are unprotected from pollution or flooding. If you see an area in the City that may require attention, please call 727-816-1902. #stormwatermanagement

Park Closure

PARK CLOSURE

Waterfront Park is temporarily closed today, September 29, 2021, for maintenance.

Staff is on-site laying crushed shells on the main roadway. You may be asking, why crushed shells? Crushed shells are organic and environmentally friendly allowing to be safely used near waterways. The shells provide valuable nutrients and nourishment to the soil, as well as assists with drainage, allowing percolation so that water can gradually filter into the ground. Additionally, as the shells are driven over they breakdown to make a solid driving/walking surface.
